New Equipment Trial: Book Scanner

Technology Services has set up a stand-alone book scanner in the middle of the old reference desk area on the first floor of Belk Library and Information Commons. The scanner was set up just before the holiday break, and we still have it on trial for a few more weeks. Try it out and see what you think.

The book scanner is meant to be super user-friendly. So, it should not require any training to use. The most amazing feature is its ability to scan text to an MP3 audio file. It works quickly and accurately.

Is it worth the hefty price tag to purchase? That is something you can help us decide. If you get a chance to look at it, we would value any feedback you might want to send our way. How easy is it to use? Have you seen it being used by students? Have library patrons provided feedback (positive or negative)? Just let any Technology Services member know what you think. Or leave a comment below.
